Cariba is a 1986 Bayfield 36 cutter-rigged sailboat. She is a Canadian built boat that was designed by Hadyn Gozzard in Clinton Ontario. The Bayfield 36 was only in production for 3 years from 1985 to 1988 when the factory burned down.
We bought Cariba in December 2014 from her previous owner just after she had returned from a trip to the South Pacific. We have spent the next 4 years and considerable sweat equity and boat bucks to getting her ready for offshore adventures again.
Improvements we have made include:
- Repowered with Beta 43
- New fuel tank
- New standing rigging 2017
- New sails
- New running rigging
- Full enclosure
- Wallace heater
- 400 watts of Solar
- New fridge
- New stove
- Hydrovane
- Liferaft
